Top 5 Factions To Grind Till Cataclysm
by TartDarling

With Cataclysm releasing just over a month from now and patch 4.0.3 looming just a few weeks away, many people are in a mad rush to tie up as many lose ends in Vanilla WoW (sorry Metzen, it will always be Vanilla to me!) while they still can. One of those loose ends is Reputations, some of which will be going away as of 4.0.3 if not sooner. If you were wondering what factions you should work on while you can, here you have it!

5. Bloodsail Buccaneers
Now I know what you are thinking. Really? Bloodsail? REALLY? Well you know what? YES, REALLY. At Blizzcon there was mention of changes being made to the way that Bloodsail reputation was earned that would make Insane in the Membrane hard, if not impossible to get. While it might not be taken out of the game completely, it makes sense to get to killing some goblins in Booty Bay while it’s still easy. Technically you only need friendly reputation to get the Avast Ye, Admiral! achievement and earn your hat, parrot and Admiral title, so this makes the list as one of the easiest reputations to grind out.

4. Argent Dawn
Argent Dawn rep is another of the easier reputations to grind and will net you a few rewards for doing so. There are quests for Alliance in Chillwind Camp and Horde in The Bulwark that reward reputation, as well as quests and Craftsman’s Writs for both factions in Light’s Hope Chapel. In addition to the quests and writs, you can also equip the Argent Dawn Commision and loot scourgestones from various mobs to turn in. Also, you can turn in everything from Bone Fragments and Crypt Fiend Parts to Core of Elements and Dark Iron Scraps to earn rep boosting Insignias. Once you’ve completed a few of the quests and have earned your Commision, Stratholme is the easiest place to go rep grinding and you’ve got a shot at getting the Baron’s mount while you’re in there! Aside from the ease of the grind and the gold and goodies you can pick up, Argent Dawn is a good rep to gain while you can, since there is a debate over whether it will be in game in Cataclysm with Stratholme giving out Argent Crusade reputation instead. With the ease of the gains, the money to be earned from Stratholme runs, shots at the Baron’s mount and multiple achievements being offered, Argent Dawn is the reputation that keeps on giving!

3. Cenarion Circle
Cenarion Circle is one of the few reputations in Vanilla WoW that is often overlooked. While it does still have some useful rewards, such as the patterns for various herb bags if you are a tailor and some nostalgia enchants and gear, it is also one half of the reputation needed for the “Guardian of Cenarius” title. It’s a fairly easy reputation to gain, with multiple turn ins and quite a few quest chains in Silithus. Reputation can also be earned for killing trash and bosses in Ahn’Qiraj. Wowpedia.org has a pretty handy guide to farming this rep in all its many forms and rewards. Plus with twilight hammer cultists earning you reputation all the way to exalted, this rep is another of the easier ones to max out quickly.

2. Hydraxian Waterlords
Hydraxian Waterlords is more commonly referred to as the Molten Core Rep. From Neutral to Honored, rep can be gained by killing Desert Rumblers and Dust Stormers in Silithus or Greater Obsidian Elementals in Burning Steppes. After that, Lord Incendius in Blackrock Depths, Huricanian in Silithus, Pyroguard Emberseer in UBRS and Molten Core trash will get you from Honored to Revered. From Revered to Exalted, bosses in Molten Core are the only way to gain reputation. One full MC clear will net you 1050 reputation, so getting to Exalted will be impossible before Cataclysm comes out, but you should be able to get pretty close. While Duke Hydraxis no longer offers the Aqual Quintesssence (and it’s no longer needed!) there are still other rewards from Molten Core, including some pretty nifty nostalgia armor sets. Molten Core is also a part of the Classic Raider achivement and a part of the Rhok’delar and Benediction quest chains. It also gives those who may not have done Molten Core a chance to go in there before any changes are made to it!

1. Zandalar Tribe
Zandalar Tribe reputation is probably the most important repuation to grind before Cataclysm comes out. With Zul’Gurub no longer being a raid, if you don’t grind the rep now, you won’t be able to shortly! Being exalted with Zandalar will most likely becoming a Feat of Strength, and there are also some awesome rewards you can earn along the way; including the Tiger and Raptor mounts and the raptor pet. Reputation is easy to gain with coin combinations, bijou, raid trash and raid bosses all giving reputation all the way up to exalted. The coins and bijou are not Bind on Pickup, so often times they can be found on the Auction House to turn in. As is usual for vanilla WoW raid reputations gear, enchants and potions are all available for rewards at different levels. With all the rewards, get in there and get farming and here’s hoping you have better luck getting the mounts than I have!

Well, there you have it, the top five reputations to grind while you wait. Hopefully it gives you some starting points and ideas. Think we should have picked a different reputation? Let us know in the comments, we love hearing from you. In the meantime, Happy farming!
