We’ve seen the epic Dragon Age II trailers, as well as the mock Penny Arcade “Hindsight” video, so how about some actual gameplay footage of DA II?
This five and a half minutes long video comes to us from the Igromir Game Expo in Moscome (thinking E3, but in Russia).
The video shows several people playing what I would assume to be some of the opening moments of DA II. I may be wrong, but that’s the vibe I get.
What’s interesting is seeing just how much the gameplay resembles Mass Effect 2. As stated many times, I feel that is incredibly disheartening, as part of what made Dragon Age awesome was Bioware’s modernization of an old gameplay style, while still staying true to those roots.
This is a complete departure from that, and turns the Dragon Age series into nothing more than an action/adventure game. That’s not an entirely bad thing of course… I like action/adventure games. I’m just disappointed that I will not be able to enjoy the same amazing gameplay which Dragon Age offered.
Dragon Age II will be available on PC, PS3, and 360 on March 8 in the US and March 11 in Europe.
