Despite the fact that Assassin’s Creed: Brotherhood has just released, hot on the heels of Assassin’s Creed 2, Ubisoft’s CEO is already talking about the next game in the series, which he states will be released next year.
“Yes, Yves [Guillemot, Ubisoft CEO] mentioned it last week in our financials – and more details will be forthcoming. But what I can say is that next year we will have another big Assassin’s Creed game”, said said Geoffroy Sardin, EMEA chief of marketing and sales at Ubisoft when speaking of the franchise with MCV.
Sardin also discusses the rate at which Brotherhood is selling, making it the publisher’s “fastest-selling game ever in the European territories, and overall the publisher’s biggest franchise”. To date, Assassin’s Creed games have sold over 20 million games.
Sardin is seeing the success of the multiplayer mode in Brotherhood. It’s good to hear that they are closely monitoring this, as it means that they will have reason to implement it in future titles as well.
