In my opinion, 3D has been over-used.

For example, I went and saw Despicable Me a couple of weeks ago. It was in 3D. I think I saw 1 single 3 second part in the entire movie that the 3D effect was put to good use.

I’m sure that there have been other movies for which 3D wasn’t needed, but I haven’t seen a hell of a lot of movies lately.

I’d like to hear your opinions on 3D, and whether or not you think it’s been over-used.

It’s the buzz word now, and because Sony has pumped so much money into the technology, I’m sure their pushing studios to make more 3D movies… sadly, there are few times when it doesn’t feel like a gimmick… and frankly, no one wants to blow that much money on a new 3D TV and hundreds of dollars for glasses.

If I were a very rich man, sure.  But otherwise, no.
